ORAYLIS paves the way to Big Data.

Leading consulting firm agrees partnership with Hortonworks. Customers can benefit fully from the future trends in data analysis.

Düsseldorf – When it comes to Big Data, Hadoop is often spoken of in the same breath. The open source solution is like no other technology for the diverse opportunities that the new data era brings with it. ORAYLIS has now agreed to forge a close partnership with the leading Hadoop provider Hortonworks. As a result, the prestigious consulting firm is also well-equipped to support its customers as they face the future challenges of big data analysis.

With strong partners in the future

"Whether it's real-time analysis, prediction models or social media evaluation - whoever wants to remain relevant as a BI consultant now has to pave the way to Big Data", explains ORAYLIS Managing Director Jörg Plümacher in terms of the strategically important decision. "That's why Hortonworks is our ideal partner. The company has done more than any other provider to assemble the Hadoop components into a powerful total package." In addition, both companies have an all-encompassing cooperation with Microsoft. "Through this high-profile technology network, we have created the perfect conditions for the implementation of efficient and future-oriented Big Data platforms."

To enter the Hortonworks partnership ORAYLIS consultants first have to be awarded the Hadoop certification. In addition, the company will have its own certified Hadoop trainer in the near future.

Carefully matched components

Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) is a complete solution that is based on the open source framework of the Apache Hadoop community. It is made up of different, carefully matched components, covering the storage, the  management and the analysis of structured and unstructured mass data. Here, HDP is understood primarily as a supplement to conventional data storage. Accordingly, Microsoft can also integrate the platform in its own products without any problems.

So the Hortonworks technology is an important part of the Analytics Platform System (APS), the pre-configured high-performance solution from Microsoft. Furthermore, it is the only Hadoop distribution that is also available in Windows. In addition, with Azure HDInsight, Microsoft offers a service for Windows Azure that is completely based on Hadoop.
